337 Week 1 Take Away

Hello all! Week one in 337 has reminded me how much work I will have this session! I am also in Math 102 and EDUC 400, and have will really have to budget my time to keep up with all my work this session! I am so thankful that I have had to write a gazillion lesson plans in all my other classes so I should be able to do the unit for this class without too much trouble. I also did a scope and sequence in Teaching Science so I am somewhat familiar with that too, although Dr. Steffes is having us do it a little differently. I welcome the challenge though, I just keep telling myself "This is the last session before student teaching! You can do it!!!"

How many of you are feeling overwhelmed?? Or feeling like you "got this?"

This is how I feel sometimes, but I just keep digging out!

  1. Parker,
I agree with you! Sometimes I feel like all I do is homework! My plate isn't as full as yours, I am only taking two classes this session. I am also going on vacation during this session. In the evenings, I will be doing homework. I am going to try to get everything done before I go on vacation so that all I have to do is present my presentation. I am also taking a class in the late summer session.

  2. Hi Parker,
I am pretty sure I am under that pile of papers with you! I am feeling very overwhelmed at the moment, but I try to remember to just take one task at a time and knock out as much as possible when the opportunity arises! I too keep telling me this is it, only eight weeks to go with classes. I think after student teaching I am investing in a t-shirt that says "I survive teaching certification!"

  3. I think I am in the paper pile with you and Niki as well! I am glad to have read in your comments on my post that your responsibilities will ease up a little in a few weeks when school ends! Luckily, I work at a preschool in the school district so I will also be ending work. Unfortunately, field experience hours for my late summer class start in June. The things you have to go through to become a teacher! Three classes is tough but you will feel so good about finishing them when you reach the end!

  4. I'm glad you guys are being so positive! It does wonders for your journey. Yes, one task at a time is a good strategy. It works for me too when I'm feeling overwhelmed with the number of assignments due. I like lists. I'm a list person. So I usually make my list of assignments and start with the easiest one, if possible, and then knock them out one by one, moving on to the most difficult. I don't know if I can do that this session. I'll see. ;) Let's charge on, ladies!

  5. And, be sure to tell ME how I can help. For example, I am happy to change up my scope and sequence if someone wants to share their information with me!
